How to choose

A good sealant has to fit the whole joint.

The brand is the last decision. Start with both surfaces and the conditions the seal will face.

  1. Name both surfaces

Choose what the sealant touches on each side. Glass to tile can need a different product from tile to painted drywall.

  2. Describe the joint

Add the location, water exposure, expected movement, gap width and whether the finished seal must be painted.

  3. Compare suitable types

Use the shortlist to understand which sealant chemistry fits and which options are ruled out for your setup.

  4. Check the product instructions

Before buying, confirm both surfaces, primer, preparation, joint depth, curing time and all warnings on the current product sheet.
